About MelodyMap

Company History

Welcome to MelodyMap! We are Anthony and Matt, and we are glad you’re here. It is very exciting to begin, or resume, your musical journey, and we are super glad to be a part of it. We met in fall of 2024 through the first West Virginia cohort of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, and hit it off immediately. A year or so later, with classes behind us, we got to talking about how the need exists for a directory which helps people connect to quality music educators. There are thousands of quality music teachers and independent schools around the country ready and waiting for new students. And there are millions of people out there looking for help to learn more about music and further their skills and abilities. So we set to work to create MelodyMap and help connect these students with the right providers in a trustworthy and clear format.

Outside of the 10KSB classroom, we both operate small businesses. Anthony is co-founder and CEO of the Sloan School of Music, founded in 2020 in Hagerstown and Frederick, Maryland. And Matt founded Second Difference Solutions in 2022, offering computer programming services near Clarksburg, WV. These experiences combine to make a great team, with the expertise to build the right resources for students and teachers to connect. We really hope that over time, we can work together with small businesses and independent schools around the country to grow their lesson programs and share more music with more people. Our mission is to make music education simpler and more accessible to everyone who wants it. Here’s to the future, and to finding new ways to help others have fun playing music!
